No Substance
Wednesday, July 11th, 2007It is better wither to be silent, or to say things of more value than silence. Sooner throw a pearl at hazard than an idle or useless word; and do not say a little in many words, but a great deal in a few. ~Pythagoras
Have you ever felt like you didn’t have anything of substance to say and so just didn’t say anything at all? Or do you feel like you should say something just to fill the gap of silence? When I say silence I’m referring to the lack of words. Because if you listen close enough is it ever really complete silent? I don’t know about anyone else, but I can always hear something. It’s usually my thoughts, but I can also hear ringing in my ears, sometimes so loud that the sound drowns out every other noise around.
I just started and finished a book yesterday. It was short yet powerful. I’ll write about it in my next blog entry. This will give me something else to write about.
